Aspropotamos (Greek: Ασπροπόταμος meaning the white river) is a former community in the Trikala regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kalampaka, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] Population 1,404 (2001 census), mainly Vlachs/Aromanians. The seat of the community was in Kallirroi (pop. 150). The community was named after the river Aspropotamos, a tributary of the Acheloos. Aspropotamos is located in the southern Pindus mountains, in the westernmost part of Trikala regional unit, about 40 km west of Trikala and 20 km southeast of Metsovo. The largest settlements in the municipal unit are Agía Paraskeví (pop. 296) and Kranéa (243).
